Beginning of the harvest at Château Quintus
29/9/2015The grape harvest at Château Quintus in Saint-Emilion began under a clear blue sky on Wednesday the 23rd of September when we decided to pick the ripest Merlot from the upper parts of the south and west-facing slopes.
These first Merlot grapes seemed extremely promising, with great colour, concentration and phenolic compound content, as well as a great balance between sugar and acidity. Not only is the size of the crop good, but the quality is looking excellent, with superbly intense, fruity, and well-focused juice. Furthermore, the weather forecast calls for an anticyclone conducive to fine weather for the next 10 days, which makes us very serene and optimistic.
