Château Quintus

End of the harvest at Château Quintus

We finished harvesting the last grapes of Cabernet Franc on Wednesday, October 8th, 2014.
The splendid Indian summer that we have experienced during the harvesting period allowed us to wait for the best optimal maturity.
A particularly strict sorting in the vineyard has led to a much lower yield than expected, only 25 hl/ha. The vinifications have proceeded serenely. The Merlots, and above all the Cabernets Francs, are of premium quality. After running-off, the wines are of a beautiful red color, with deep purple tints. Malolactic fermentations have just started but we should in the end have the confirmation of the great potential of this vintage.
According to Claude Diligeart, Cellar Master for more than 20 years at Château Quintus, this vintage is very promising and already pleasant with a great sweetness of the tannins that reveals a perfect maturity.
