Château Quintus

The harvest continues

The micro climate in Saint-Emilion is such that the fruit requires more time in order to reach full maturity … Although the ripe grapes are more prone to developing botrytis, we must wait until these achieve perfect ripeness. The Merlot that we picked early are exceptionally well balanced. Despite the significant concentration of sugars, the juice retains an ample freshness. A sign of good maturity, the first Merlot easily release their pigments. Soon, we will be able to taste the first vats and thus have the full measure of this vintage … We look forward to receiving the confirmation of the analytical indicators’ suggestion that we are likely to be in the presence of a very fine vintage.
